Reggie

DOB approx July 2003

Reggie came to live with us in December 2004 as his owner was moving interstate. He is an affectionate, cheeky, loving rat who likes to give kisses. He is always cheerful and ready to come out and be with you whenever you say his name.

Reggie snuggled up on the bed in December 2005.

In late December and Early January we had a group of rats come for a holiday. The bad news was Reggie had to move into a smaller cage (which by the way used to be his cage) so Max and Felix could have his bigger cage. Reggie was not impressed at all with this arrangement and at every opportunity he would go over to his cage and demand that the two intruders leave. If they were out on the play table he would get into the cage and make himself comfortable in his favourite spot on the top level. He was really pleased when the visitors went home and he got his cage back. Max and Felix were not put out by this move at all only poor Reggie.

Felix

DOB. 20th February 2005

Felix was a rescue baby that needed a home he also was the runt of the litter. My friend took his 2 brothers so Felix came to live with us. He is a black and white downunder rat that is very lively and adventurous. He loves playing in the sink and has a fascination for water.

Felix and his fascination for water started at an early age. Here he is 6 weeks old and already he is diving into the jar of water and washing his face.

Below are photos of Felix and Max all grown up at 8 months old

Max

Max is an argente  he is a big boy growing very quickly with a quiet sweet nature. He prefers cuddles to running around and playing like Felix. They are good companions for one another as their personalities are completely different.

I was too sad to write about the passing of Max in November 2006, he had been fighting respiratory illness for many months and he took a turn for the worse and we made the hard decision of letting him go to sleep instead of not being able to breathe. So we say goodbye to a most loving, friendly rat who loved everyone and I miss him terribly.

RIP Max 3.3.05 - 20.11.06

Baby Max at 5 weeks of age is in the container with the fabric, his brother Scraper is in the pipe.

Scraper went to live at another home.

Max at 9 months old he is a big boy weighing 575 grams. He is my big squish and he is enjoying his forbidden run on the computer desk with his companion Felix.

Snoopy

Snoopy started out as a house guest on 18th December 2005 and stayed. He is not good with other males and likes to be alone He is a rat with attitude and it makes him quite a character and if you haven't already noticed we like rats with attitude. I need more details from his owner as to birth date and will update when I get them.

Snoopy all fooffed up because he could smell where Max and Felix had been, in the first photo. He is a little calmer in the second.

More sadness for us suddenly Snoopy was ill and after a visit to the vet it was discovered he had a tumour in his bladder. So with renal failure setting in he was put to sleep. RIP Snoops we loved you and your funny little ways.

Snoopy 2005-January 18th 2007.
