WHAT RATS HAVE TAUGHT US.

 

Memorial to our rats from the past.

 We have had the privilege of keeping about 100 rats in the last 7 years.  

So we can not possibly tell you about all of them. However we have a few characters that have really got under our skin.

 

 Beatrix.  Our very first rat .

Very ordinary agouti hooded taught us that rats are sweet, intelligent and humorous beings.                                                   

It is fun to steal, It is fun to talk ( squeak  back ).

They make very good Aunts.

Hide and seek is a fun game.

Humans laugh when you wiggle your ears.

 

 Leroy  (silver black) Berkshire

He really got into our hearts. From the moment I saw him I wanted him. He also wanted to come with me. Love at first sight. He taught us all about rat love. He was meticulously clean.

Rats give kisses.

They sleep on your pillow.                                                                                                

They have big testicles.

They can be cool.

Male rats love girl rats.

Break your heart when they get sick and die.

 

 Lizzy ( champagne)

She was our first disabled rat not that she knew it. ( She was Blind )

We loved her to bits she was sweet, adventurous and brave. Alas it was her adventurous streak that caused her demise. I cried for a whole weekend and missed her so. 

There where many others that touched our hearts.

Alice, Rodney, Elvis, Angus, Wellington, Rastus, Milkshake to name a few recent ones.
